| socket 939 junkie | actually the integrated 6150 will play css, but i wouldnt want to with only 512mb of ram. put a gig in it and it would be ok at 800x640, maybe even 1024x768 with medium/low i know it will cause ive played it on a 939 board with a 6150, A64 3200 and 1gb of ram. gets about 30FPS or so. oh, heres the monitor i got for my baghdad build LINKY 8ms pixel response (i see no ghosting) and a DVI connection (no cable though) and the one i got had 0 dead pixels. pretty nice monitor at $167 oh also why not just go with a 939 system similar to what i built? (i was dumb and went 754 but oh well lol) get that biostar tforce-939 mobo, throw a 3200 in it with 1gb corsair vs dr400, 80gb sata hard drive and a 7600gs. i put a 7600gt in mine and the total cost including monitor was $815 and it can play games damn good Q6600 @ 3.6ghz (400x9 @ 1.408v) Gigabyte X38-DQ6 2x2GB G-Skill DDR2 1000 @ DDR2 1066 5-5-5-15 2T 2.1v Visiontek HD4870 Seagate 7200.11 500GB 32MB Cache HDD Razer Barracuda AC1 Silverstone DA750 Samsung Dual Layer DVD Burner Lian Li G70WB Thermochill PA120.3|Swiftech Storm Rev.2|Swiftech MCP 655 Last edited by simple_inhibition; January 5th, 2007 at 20:32. |

| Exactly. You could probably go even lower. But with those components it's already very affordable. If you want to "futureproof" it a little, change the Athlon to Conroe. Make sure you go with an Antec bundle as well, they will save you tons of money. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 |

| socket 939 junkie | why "futureproof" to a conroe when your only gonna notice a difference in encoding or benchmarks. he wants inexpensive pc's that can play CSS. theres no need for 15s superpi times here. besides CSS was released back in the P4/Athlon XP, 9700PRO days. | socket 939 junkie | heres what i would build if it were me. Sonata II case $89.99 BIOSTAR TForce6100-939+A64 3200 combo $118.99 evga 7600gt $129.99 ($109.99 after $20MIR) OCZ EL DDR400 2-3-2-5 $103.99 Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600JS 160GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s $52.99 NEC 18X DVD±R DVD Burner $29.99 Tyris T701DB Black 17" 8ms DVI LCD $167.99 TOTAL W/3 DAY SHIPPING -$20 MIR = $715.64 im assuming you have XP Pro at the shop (cause you cant hook up more than 4 pc's in a lan with XP Home) if thats not the case, then XP Pro adds another $139.99 + $4.99 S&H brining the total to $856.93. 5 such systems would cost $4284.65. throw in 5 cheap keyboard, mouse combos and speakers/headphones and were talking 5 complete systems for under $4500 (leaving $500 for other games or beer) Q6600 @ 3.6ghz (400x9 @ 1.408v) Gigabyte X38-DQ6 2x2GB G-Skill DDR2 1000 @ DDR2 1066 5-5-5-15 2T 2.1v Visiontek HD4870 Seagate 7200.11 500GB 32MB Cache HDD Razer Barracuda AC1 Silverstone DA750 Samsung Dual Layer DVD Burner Lian Li G70WB Thermochill PA120.3|Swiftech Storm Rev.2|Swiftech MCP 655 |

I wouldn't suggest running it that way though. Throw in a gig of ram and buy some 7600gs cards and then those computers will play it fairly well. Last edited by Hitman; January 6th, 2007 at 01:19.

No need for SLI or Crossfire or any super high end items, this setup mentioned here should do it beautifully ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members.
