That Mobo only has 1 IDE port, so you can only connect 2 IDE devices. You should be upgrading to SATA hard drives anyways.

im DEF upgrading to SATA...im just wondering for the time being if i was able to connect my older devices to the mobo

also been readin up on heating issues with the 4850 (single slot air) and the 4870...when the gtx runs about 20 degrees cooler....should i take that into consideration? or just suck it up and buy the 4870

For what it's worth, I'm selling my 4850 in favor of a 260 for vairous reasons. It's a great card that I have no problem recommending, but the driver and heat issues just bug me.

lol nice find i just mite have to use that for the time being...

but as for the heat issues...how bad is it??? because i really don't want to drop 300 on a gpu and then have heat issues

It's not really an issue if your case has effective cooling, I never got any artifacts or anything. If your case is cramped and lacks proper ventilation, you could experience problems.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm...i was thinking of getting the antec 900 case...you think that should keep it at an efficient temp??? because my friend has the 9800gtx+ and it runs at around 130 degrees which is PRETTYYY hot!! and i heard its supppose to run cooler then the 4870 so i could only imagine how hot this card could get

That's 54c which is a tad on the warm side, but nothing to get too worried about on a video card under full load. If it idled at 54c then you might worry a little.
