Great system, wish I had the cash to throw at something like that. How does it look on the big screen?

upgraded my dvd burner with a 20x sata drive with lightscribe. i don't know if i'll ever use lightscribe but it sounds cool.

i also got a sytrin hard drive cooler to try it out. it looks pretty slick and seems to be worth it but any ideas on how to test it? i don't know of any hard drive temp monitoring programs.

Just do a little writeup on something to help newcomers with some typical part of building a system. With your photographic skills and recent experience with building that machine, I'm sure you can think of something to write a little guide about!

Everest from Lavalys will report your hard drive temps, or at least the paid version will (not sure if that was included in the discountinued free version). Alternately, you can check your temps, and other HDD info, with HDD Health.

This is a constant vicious cycle in the computer industry. Either you get used to seeing price cuts a month or two after you buy something or you play the eternal waiting game and sit around forever waiting for the next best thing.

i've got two new components. a few days ago, i got a new wireless-n router from linksys and today i received a new evga ultra via the step up program that they offer.

i wanted to replace my wireless b router that i had because it was a couple of years old and wireless n has evolved enough for me to make the jump.

the ultra upgrade was made because i had the option to do it and i wanted to take advantage of the program while i was eligible. i had about 29 days left and the price of the ultra had dropped enough for me to feel comforatable with stepping up.

i'll put together a review of the evga step up program within the next couple of days. there are probably a few people that are curious to how it works and how much time and effort it might take.
