| The 9600GT is ~$170 while the 8800GT is ~$220. If he can fit the 8800GT into his budget, go for it! | Packers Fanboi | If you use the stock intel cooler it'll come with thermal paste already on it, so you don't really have to do much (and man, the stock cooler with the e8400's is SMALL!!!). e6300@3.33ghz|Asus P5k-e WiFi| 4gb OCZ ReaperX|2x 3870's|1.3tb storage space|MSI tv tuner. |

| I'm Evil | there will be directions with the thermal paste. In the case of that ZEROtherm cooler, you'll evenly spread a small amount all across the IHS (Integrated Heat Spreader). Remember, more is not better. If you decide to use the generic cooler that comes with the CPU, the cooler has a thermal pad pre-applied to the base. As to the big decision, please share with us what you have decided on so we can give you our final thoughts. | I'm Evil | Theres nothing at all wrong with that build, nicely done. I haven't gotten the 9600GT yet, but have been using the 3870 in my system and love it. Honestly, for $50 more (and I'd cut the cost elsewhere if need be), I'd really recommend the E8400, its a fantastic processor.
