Yeah... building your own system really is the way to go! Once you've built as many systems as I have, you can put the average home user's PC together in like 30 minutes, and still have time to get a cuppa before beginning the Windows installation ;) Think of building a PC like its a big 3D jigsaw puzzle.... if you do your homework and get the right parts, they all fit into place very easily. Also the motherboard manuals today do give you all the important fitting information including pictures and diagrams. It's no where near as hard as most people think it is :) Not to mention you save so much money you can spend the saving on a more powerful system overall :)

Working on putting something together for you. Ok, for a Grand total of $1,493.67 including shipping and BEFORE rebates you can build a system based on the following components: -Antec P182 Mid-Tower Case -Asus P5Q Deluxe P45 Motherboard -Intel Core2Quad Q9550 -8GB (4x2GB) G.Skill DDR2-800 1.8v -Visiontek ATI Radeon HD4870 (Great card for work and play) -Corsair 650TX 650watt Power Supply -Seagate Barracuda ES 250GB SATA2 HDD (For boot drive) -Seagate 7200.11 1TB 32MB Cache SATA2 HDD (For storage) -2X Asus SATA DVD Burner -Zerotherm Zen FZ120 CPU Cooler Take off $95 after the Mail-in rebates, and add your OS of choice (recommend Vista x64). There's no way you could buy a prebuilt system this nice for less than $2k. ![]() Last edited by gvblake22; October 7th, 2008 at 19:26. Reason: consecutive posts merged

Also, another thing that will help you become more familiar with the process, is to read some reviews for each product you're looking at. Just google ">insert product name here< review" and grab some popcorn, not all of it may make sense, but you'll learn a LOT! ![]() Last edited by drew and not u; October 7th, 2008 at 15:50. | |

If you do decide to go ahead and build your PC yourself.... I am more than happy to do a live video call with you as you build it, so you can watch and repeat each step of building a PC one by one as I build one here in England. As far as I know it's never been done before, so hey... let's set a world's first! Honestly, building a PC is so easy.... it's having the confidence to do it that's a little more tricky. I believe that with someone building a computer with you (in this case perhaps half a world away via webcam), you will have absolute total confidence in each step and the end result. If you want to take me up on the offer, that's cool :)

Thank you all! I learned a lot so far on this forum and I'm thinking to give it a try Thanks Capper for your input as well , I'm in no hurry , do you think I should wait for the new Nehalem components to arrive? like i mentioned before I would like to have a systme that will last me a long time so if the Nehalem parts is the new wave to the future I rather wait.
