And @ Capper, I did not know Asus had Wireless N on their Newest MBs. The next MB I buy will have Wireless N. I just want the new socket to be released before I go to DDR3...
My experience with Asus over the last 3 years has been abysmal, to say the very least. I've sold a ton, and half of them came back/died. Mostly the socket 939 era, AM2 and after seemed to be decent. However, Asus is going to relocate their manufacturing to China soon to save costs (except for laptops, go figure), hopefully this doesn't impact so much on quality, though I would be surprised it won't.

So far it's nice. I really like the 1TB drive, it's damned fast. I use my 250GB for my OS, a 320GB for programs, a 320GB in external enclosure and the 1TB for storage. I think I'm good for a while now :)

There's just something bugging me, overclocking. I'm at 3.6Ghz in the BIOS yet Windows Vista x64 says 3Ghz.
I disabled all the extra CPU crap. I remember an issue though if I'm not mistaken with certain Asus boards. When you disable the floppy in the BIOS it's like the overclock wouldn't work, and this strangely looks like what I'm experiencing. I'll have to check that after i'm done seting my crap.

Oh and lord, the Ultra-120 Extreme BARELY fits in the 900. It's right up to the window. :S!

Hmm CoreTemp reports 3.6Ghz, just not Windows. Any I don't quite mind, as long as I get the speed boost.
My load temps are ridiculously high though. 56C load using F@H SMP client. I believe I'm one of those people with wonky sensors. Idle it shows around 37C, which is also quite hard to believe seeing as i'm on stock volts. Also the air around my heatsink and even the base/heatpipes are rather cold to the touch.

Anyone has a clue/fix? I've read many things on E8400 temp sensors problems, but apparently there wasn't any known fix or way to get actual temps.

Edit: Actually right now with no load, it's stuck at 46C for one core and 44C for the other. No way it's going lower.

Yeah My temps are 42/46 idle and like 54/58 load. Haven't seen it get lower then 42. I'm on stock cooling/volt but I think the temps are 10c higher then they really are. That would make more sense but I don't know for sure. I don't think anyone knows for sure. Intel says the sensors are reading correctly.

They can't be reading correctly, seeing as im at 46C idle in Windows using core temp, 37C idle in BIOS and using a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme with IC7D TIM on stock volts. It wouldn't quite make sense I get temps close to yours with all that.

I installed the Hauppauge 1800 over the weekend and no problems so far. I my using the free SageTV demo (21 days) and so far it looks great. Slightl lag vs. Digital DVR/Cable Box, which is a slight bit slower than cable right into TV, but really only a second or so.

Yeah I'm having some fun with the TV tuner myself. Didn't test for video games just yet, as i've been taking care of a few comps at the same time but I really like the remote I got bundled with. When used with intelliremote you can pretty much do anything you want, I control my music and video players with it, as well as media center. :)
