I don't really see how you can compare the two reviews TBH. Matt had his P4 overclocked to 4.2GHz with 1.425V running into it and you had a Q6600 to 2.92GHz probably running voltage around 1.33-1.35V or so. My Q6600 hits 2.92GHz with 1.33V. Not quite an apples to apples comparison IMHO. My Q6600 @ 2.92GHz using a TT Big Typhoon loaded is 45°C with 1.33V and 21.1°C ambient. Taking into account the differences in our ambient air temps, it's obvious that the Freezer 7 Pro is outperforming my cooler. | A Lonely Geek | Yeah, actually I think that during both reviews, Vcore was like 1.1375. But, in my initial tests on the Freezer (to see if it worked as well as the Freezer 64 Pro) I cranked the Vcore to around 1.45 and was seeing maybe a few degrees higher. I think I paid $18 bucks for the Freezer 7 Pro, it was on sale at the Egg. That is one helluva bargain. Ambient temperature makes a lot of difference. More than you think it should. |
