Unless you are going SLI, get an intel chipset like X48. The velociraptor is nice, but I'd take 2x 150gb raptors in RAID 0 any day over it. Intel RAID 0 is fast and reliable as hell. 2 drives are faster then one. I've used computers with one raptor, and then added in another one and totally notice the difference, things load faster and more things can be going on at once and still operating smoothly.

If you want to go 64-bit, get 4gb of memory. I've used 64-bit with 4gb and 32-bit with 2gb and Honestly the 64bit setup was faster. And it was using DDR2-800 where as now I run 32-bit vista ultimate and DDR3-1333.

I dunno, but a system that sweet deserves to rest inside a Silverstone or Lian-Li enclosure!

You'd better post pics when you build it, so that I can live vicariously through you.

Heh, will do Sumgai. That is if I can actually bring myself to stop using the computer :P

Quick question though: I've been reading that Vista has trouble with less that 4GB of Ram.. will the 2GB of OCZ DDR3 2000 run ok or should I get another 2Gigs?

Yes, get the 64 bit ultimate and yes get the extra 2 gigs. That is a SWEET system. Read my sig and see what I decided on after mucho help here. I wanted to go for a sub $1200 system that is fast, and this did it for me. Yours is a place I would have gone if I wanted to pay more....but I like to beat the system a bit. VERY nice.

PS, the 64 Vista once tweaked a bit is very good. I have 4 gig OCZ reaper and run all games with my 8800 GTS 512 EVGA KO on near high settings with a 22 inch monitor.

Lastly, I agree that with that machine, you can go with a Cosmos 1000 case or more. Why not, your are already up there!

Have fun!

Really have you done any research or are you just making assumptions, because everything I have read a single velociraptor stomps a mud hole in 2x150GB Raptors in RAID 0. Thats one of WD goals every time they release a new 10K drive, for a single drive to out perform their previous drives in RAID 0. Thats how they get people to buy their new drives.
