You can only put it in your older computer if it used DDR2 RAM, and a PCI-E GPU card. Just make sure everything in your older rig is compatible with that mobo.

It has a readon X800.. i think that is a pci express card.
As for ram, i'm almost positive its DDR2, it has 2gbs (4x 512) ram.

Is their a way besides opening up my system to check it out?

Edit: If i do change the mobo in a two years, and the GPU/ CPU, would i need to buy a new Vista? since the one i'm buyin is OEM or would i be able to call Microsoft and have them square it out

DL CPU-Z and check out the system specs.

I always just call MS and tell them I've had a major hardware change. Then they just give me a new activation code.

You'll probably have to call microsoft and get them to release the key or give you a new one or something.... crap, I just realized that when I swap mobo's I'm gonna need a 3rd vista64 key.... i bet the guy at my school is gonna get tired of handing them out.

Hopefully I'm wrong though....

Sweet parker! Looks like i'm set. I *was* going to pay more, but i had that guilty feeling about it but this build feels much better for the buck.

Newegg.com - ZEROtherm Nirvana NV120 120mm 2-ball UFO Bearing / Transparent CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks

That fan is the only difference between whats in the shopping cart and what you just linked. If i'm going to be overclocking the E8400 to say 4.0ghz (maybe higher if it can go higher safely) should i use this fan or the one you just linked?

Also, get the retail E8400 right? Since it has a 3 year warranty.

that ZEROTherm is better than the AC Freezer 7. See HL's review of it HERE.

Excellent excellent!!! We just recently reviewed this cooler:
ZEROtherm Nirvana NV120 CPU Cooler Review

Great cooler indeed, it'll cool that E8400 at 4Ghz no problem!

Edit: dangit Nate!!! you beat me to it!! lol

Yip the retail E8400, you'll want that warranty.
Plus, it comes with the stock cooler, it's always nice to have an extra cooler laying around just in case!
