i have eVGA's 7600GT KO in my deployment pc and its a great little card. plays company of hero's with max settings at 1280x1024 just fine. to be honest i really cant see a difference between it and my 7800GT except in benchmarking

im trying to keep it around 700 for everything.

mm ok, well going just from prices with rebates and such from what has been listed you are now at $688.96, thats real good for the main stuff. What about hdd(s) and the optical drive(s)?

he's pulling them from his other build. is your 80GB hard drive sata or ATA? if its ATA, its gonna be a bit difficult going with an AM2 or LGA775 system since they only have one PATA port. do-able, but make sure you set the hard drive as "master" and the optical as "slave"

I would not recommend putting a HDD and a CD-ROM on the same cable, for starters they use different cables. A hard drive will use a 40-pin 80 conductor cable, while a CD or DVD will only require 40-pin 40 conductor cable. Also to consider is that putting an optical drive on the same IDE channel as a HDD will drop the HDD performance to that of the optical drive.

ugh yeh they r ata . which sucks cause i didnt want to buy another hdd. but i guess i will.

found a hdd Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

am i okay now?
