Unless I'm mistaken
It gives you an average based on GPU and CPU performance, as both are critical to games. Since dual cores have yet to be optimized for games aside from SupremeCom, what really matters most is raw speed. Even with a second core, at 2Ghz my CPU is a bottleneck. 3Dmark itself recommends 2.5 or higher Looks like it's overclock time until Phenom rolls out.

RAID, I now officially envy you. Feel special.

it almost makes me want to buy a new mobo/cpu

But I think just buying a new mobo would be good enough.
but then my rev.2 mobo would be sad and probably collecting dust

my cpu is a p4 3.2ghz and i have a mate whos has a similar system but a c2d 2.66 ghz but his out performs the p4 now erm i dunno but is their any significant differences in the performance between the 2 chips. our systems r very similar but his mobo is diff the encourporate the c2d.

The Core2 totally wastes the P4. The Pentium 4 has to be the most architecturally flawed processor, Intel concentrated on only scaling up the speeds and not on making good use of them. A 2.0ghz Athlon 64 would walk all over that P4, its just how inefficient the processor is. Core2 uses a completely different architecture thats far more efficient, so while your Pentium 4 may be technically faster, the Core2 is making much better use of it's clock cycles and putting the P4 to shame. Do a google search for Megahertz Myth.

how does cache sizes affect 3dmark scores for example: would an e4400 clocked to 2.4ghz beat an e6600?
