| Personally, no. I don't like big laptops as they are power hungry, heavy, and awkward to carry around. If your brother is that concerned about higher resolutions (and not screen size), there are 15.4" laptops that offer 1440x900 resolution. I've had good luck with HP, as I just purchased a dv6500t Special Edition notebook this past November. I also wrote a review on it, which you can read by clicking HERE. But, generally speaking, stick with the well-known name brands as this affords warranty and service work in the event that your laptop needs it. As voiced by others here, I would highly reccomend you stay away from the brick and mortar stores like Best Buy and Circuit City for your laptop needs. The choices are slim, and you can't get the laptops MTO to your specifications. Last edited by garetjax; May 23rd, 2008 at 17:35. |

| My dad is gonna be there until the 27th (Tuesday?) and it has to be with a credit card because here in Venezuela isn't easy to get $ cash because is regulated (it sucks). |

| oh noes | Also, you could use something like paypal along with your credit card to get that laptop from Capper. Shipping might be the bigger issue there. Gateway - Laptop with Intel® Centrino® Processor Technology - P-6860FX might be one to look at. Should be available in any Bestbuy you have, and it's a rock solid laptop. It'll game pretty darn hard with that 8800gtm inside too, more so than anything else you've looked at for that price, probably. Here's a review of something really similar AnandTech: Gateway P-6831 FX: Best Midrange Gaming Notebook Ever (looks to have a little slower proc in that review unit, a t5450 instead of a t5550. Should be pretty close though. ) EDIT: also, bestbuy had the exact model from that anandtech review here: Gateway - Laptop with Intel® Centrino® - P-6831FX, and it's a bit cheaper. ![]() e8500@4ghz|Asus P5k-e WiFi| 4gb OCZ ReaperX|2x 3870's|1.3tb storage space|MSI tv tuner. | that looks great for gaming with that 8800gtm, you think that laptop can run crysis?, I'm gonna tell my brother and send a text to my dad to see what they think. Shipping is a problem but i think he's gonna buy the laptop trough the company so he gets the taxes down and i don't know if when you use paypal you can do that.
