On a 20.1" widescreen monitor (which actually has a smaller resolution than a 20.1" standard 4:3 LCD), I really don't think it is worth $160 to get a GTX over the GTS. The GTS is a great performer by its self and has much more reasonable power and heat characteristics, not to mention the GTS is the same lengh as most other high-end cards while the GTX is even longer and could potentially cause incompatability or clearance issues in some systems (although it shouldn't be a problem in the Thermaltake Armor as that case is quite spacious).

Oh geez, I didn't even realize you had 4GB of memory picked out! You definately don't really need that much. Some people will argue that 2GB is overkill sometimes. You should be fine with a quality 2GB kit of CAS 4 DDR2-800 memory (OCZ, Corsair, Mushkin, Kingston, etc).

Thats a lot of girl scout cookies.

just my 2 cents but that GTX isn't necessary unless your running a huge monitor like a 32" You will get the same frame rates with the GTS if your only using a 20" monitor.

It would be like owning a race car and only driving it 55 mph.

I'm a big believer in budget/mainstream components, unless you suffer from penis envy. A great part of building your own system is the ability to customize it based on your needs....
I don't understand people that buy the most expensive parts.....why not buy some mainstream parts and modestly overclock them to get the same performance? In all honesty, Hitman is right, you'll notice little difference between the two cards, unless you are benchmarking.

ok, but uh, will the gtx last longer, in the sense of like when we advance so far that games will require more then my 8800 gts, will having the gtx prolongue having to buy a new card, know what i mean?

The technology is the same, to be perfectly honest. In six months both will be "older" cards. For your needs, both will be perfectly fine for the foreseeable future.
