| i would suggest if you live in a college dorm to not go watercooling it takes time and space not to mention building it from scratch cost at least $500 for a decent parts... SLI is flashy but like everyone said only usefull with 30" above monitor, or multiple display that more than 3 monitors, i run my 8800GTS single VC with two monitor[one is actually Aqous 32" HDMI Tv] it runs great, i watch movie on my comp. go 8800GT, then DFI BloodIron is the fav right now, and a decent 6400 2gb RAM kit like crucial, corsair, or patriot.... 32bit is fine unless more RAM in heavy video-editing or audio recording, or any like software that will benifit from 4GB of RAM and 64Bit OS... pick your choice... Abit IP35-E C2D E6750 G0 @ 2.66ghz [TR Ultra120EX] EVAG 8800GTS [TR HR03] Corsair [2gbDual@800] 820GB HDD[120/200/500] Antec TP 550W Silverstone Temjin 09 Saitek Eclipse1 & Razer DeathAdder Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit |

| The Blood Iron is nice if you are on a budget... but if you have $1500, and you want to try overclocking a bit more heavily, you can probably get a nicer motherboard like the DFI UT P35-T2R or the Abit IP35-Pro or even the relatively new DFI DK P35 board. I think you guys got sli out of my head for the time being. I am more lost now lol I toss all my old ideals out. working with $1500 maybe $2000 now if theres a good reason. I have always been a firm beleiver in buying a quality enclosure. I mean, let's face it: you're stuffing over $1,500 worth of computer components in it. It would be a lot like buying a Yugo and installing a Z06 rated Corvette powerplant in it. Sure, it'll go fast, but will it hold up in the long run? Probably not. The Cosmos is at a price point that's hard to beat. Free shipping and $189 now, and a $30.00 MIR which brings it down (in the end) to $159.00. Not a bad deal if you're the kind of person that doesn't mind MIRs. Check it out: LINK Last edited by garetjax; January 29th, 2008 at 14:20. | |

| If you REALLY want to water cool, THIS is the only way to go. If you like air cooling more, the Cosmos is a kickass case, I'm sure you'll be happy with it. I would get an E8400 over a quad any day. I'd say 8800GTS 512MB (G92) or 8800GT 512MB. Or if you've got cash to burn, get an 8800GTX. Get some Crucial Ballistix 2x1GB DDR2 PC8500. Or if you want 4GB get two of those kits. I've got a Samsung SyncMaster 2220WM (22") and I'm loving it! Samsung make excellent LCD's IMO. ![]() | |

| This is a nice one. OCZ GameXStream OCZ700GXSSLI ATX12V 700W Personally I think this one is even better. [I just installed it today] PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610 EPS12V EPS12V 610W Continuous @ 40°C Power Supply Main: 3ghzQ6600, Gemini2, IP35 Pro, PC 610W PSU, 4GB 6400, XP Pro, 500GB raid 0, 22" + (2)19" WS LCD's w/ Palit 9600 GT and Dual Core Notebook. | For PSU's, I like Silverstone, Antec, PC Power and Cooling off the top of my head. I nice 600-700W sounds about right for your system, and it will leave you room to upgrade. As I said, the DFI Blood Iron is a great choice of motherboard. Actually, a quad-core isn't a bad choice for gaming now because COD4 and Crysis both utilize quad-cores.
