I am trying to get a feel how you guys feel about that. Personally, I like the idea of a full keyboard with a number pad, but having never owned a notebook, I honestly don't know. Any feedback would be appreciated.
You can get external num pads to connect to laptops and get the best of both worlds!

Of course! =)

Can anyone tell me if the space to type on a notebook keyboard is more cramped without the numer pad, or does the number pad afford more room? I think what I am going to have to do is go to like Best Buy or something and find a 17" monitor laptop and see what one with a number pad is like versus one that doesn't.

Also, are the AMD Turion 64 notebook processors better than the Intel Core 2 Duo Centrinos?

That would, in all actuality, be the best advice you could take.
