When I installed all the ASUS drivers/utilities.



MOBO: Asus A8N32-SLI
CPU: Opteron 165
HDD: WD 320GB/16MB/SATA
RAM: 2GB OCZ Gold XTC PC4000
ROM: NEC 3550a DL DVD/CD Burner
Video: Geforce 7900GT Extreme
Case: Thermaltake Armor/aluminum
PSU: Thermaltake 600w purepower
OS: Windows XP Professional

As long as you aren't doing raid, i don't see any reason why you can't uninstall it.

Yeah, try installing each driver seperately. Uninstall the drivers and then reinstall ONLY the chipset drivers, no Asus utilities. Then see what happens.

You could also try just downloading the official nVidia chipset drivers from nvidida's website and just installing those...

Yea, I installed the "Silicon Image Raid driver and utility" from the ASUS support CD/Drivers menu.

Yeah, if your drive is working ok, then you shouldn't have to install that.

The SATARAID5 is installed as a program. If try to remove it via the add/remove program, the system again freezes up just after the uninstall wizard pops up. Arghhh.

Normally, under this situation, i would reformat. But im sure there is a good solution to it.
