Next, my main BIOS screen does not show an IDE master. The DVD/CD rom is shown as 2nd IDE master and the SATA HDD as 3rd IDE master-it doesn't show as a 1st SATA master nor are there any SATA indicators. Any suggestions or am I good at this point?

I usually disable all the IDE's not used, so if the IDE 1,4,5,6 are being used, I select "not installed. As to the rest, I think all the options you need to worry about are down in the "IDE Configuration" screen, and as Blake said, you also want to make sure the boot priority is correct as well.

Have you installed Windows and the drivers?
....
First, you need to make a Boot Disk, On your ASUS CD, you can use "explore" and there will be a description that says "Make Disk" hit that and follow the directions to make a floppy disk with the appropriate drivers on it. I hate that ASUS doesn't include a driver disk with their bundles....less than a penny a piece would make things much easier for their customers.
1. Set your CD to the first boot device in the BIOS....put your Windows install CD in the CD/DVD and reboot
2.You'll see "Setup is checking your system configuration", then a blue scree, at the bottom it willl say "If you need to install drivers (or something like that), hit F6"....tap F6 a couple of times.
3. After it installs some files it will get to a point where it will ask you what drivers you want to install( I think you hit "S"), a list will pop up showing things like the NVIDIA RAID Drviers, SATA Storage, etc.....select the two that say "Required" and keep going
Everything from there should be very simple and self explanatory.

You really shouldn't need a floppy drive for anything. Unless of course there is a driver for somthing that (for some reason) is only available on a floppy disk. Even then, you can usually download new drivers from the internet and put them onto whatever media you wish.

Hope all is going well!

I've come to another problem, every time I reboot, the SATARAID5 (Array Manager) window pops-up on my desktop. The window is empty but it pops-up anyway. I am not running a raid configuration at this point. If I close the SATARAID5 window, the entire system freezes. Any suggestions?

Hmmmmm, I've never seen that before :(

Is that Western Digital 320GB drive your only HDD? When you installed windows, did you hit F6 to "Install a 3rd Party SCSI or RAID driver"?

Also, it probably doesn't matter but what SATA port is your drive plugged into?
