| Modder-ator | WOOO! Nice one Bigedmond! I think he takes the cake so far... I went from a Dell Inspiron laptop: 900MHz PIII 284MB RAM 16MB video 10GB HDD to AMD Athlon XP Barton 2500 2x256MB Kingston HyperX DDR-400 Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB 80GB Seagate 7200.7 (which soon gave way to a 74GB Raptor) Then I moved on to a Mobile 2600 (socket A), then s939 3200 Venice with 6600GT, then AM2 3800 X2 and X1950Pro... I did say there was a slight increase. lol Measuring pure CPU speed, I did it with 3d rendering which gives equal result for P4 or Celeron, the increase was 10x + more over the P1, for example, I had a test scene that would take 30 minutes to render on the 133mhz, would now take 3 minutes on the 1.7g. || AMD Athlon64 3800+ Venice | Asus A8N5X s939 | OCZ Premier PC3200 Du-Ch 1GB | Sapphire X1600Pro 512MB PCI-e | 1xWD 80Gb & 1xWD 250Gb Sata(s) | Antec SLK3800B Case | Enermax NoiseTaker 485W || | |

| 8088 (I believe 8MHz) with 10MB HDD flash drive, 768kb RAM, low density 5.25" floppy & low density 3.5" floppy to: P2 266MHZ, 5GB HDD, 256MB RAM, no 3D acceleration, but able to run UT then: P3 733MHZ, 10GB HDD, 512MB RAM, unremarkable Nvidia 3D accelerator then: AMD 1800+, Nvidia GeForce 4 TI4600, 768MB RAM, 40GB HDD and finally: AMD 2700+, just under 1TB of HDD space total, ATI 9600XT Whew! a few jumps in technology there. ____________________________ _= AMD 2700+ OC'd to 3200 =_ -=1GB RAM, ATI 9600XT 512MB=- -------------------------------- |
