| Modder-ator | Yeah, that Black Box Edition Processor is kindof old news, this better not be the big surprise from AMD. If so, I'm just gonna pretend it was the HD 2900Pro instead! ![]() |

| socket 939 junkie | well the Black Edition X2 5000 is available at newegg for $129.99. not a bad price for a budget chip with unlocked multi's. again my gut feeling is it will be a decent "tweener" chip for those people out there waiting for phenom. however i still feel that C2D is the way to go for a new build. |

| I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | Not a bad price, but I've really become ho-hum with regards to unlocked mulitipliers; I found them much more useful back before motherboards started handling memory dividers so well. |

| Did they release anything noteworthy back then? If they did, it was a silent *poof* instead of a roar. Intel C2D 6550 Asus P5Q Pro OCZ Platinum DDR2 800 2 x 2 GB EVGA GTX260 216 Samsung SyncMaster 930B 1 x WD3200 2 x WD2000JD HP DVD640 Corsair 750TX Win XP Home SP3 |

| socket 939 junkie | the HD2900PRO, basically an underclocked HD2900XT with a suggested price tag of $250 (most places are selling it for around $270 last time i checked) outperforms the 320mb 8800GTS for the most part. cool thing is, you can clock it back up to XT speeds (ymmv of course ;-) ) |
