Ok I haven't been able to do much with this build since I first got it up and running because I've been really busy but it seems to be running really slow and I have no idea why...I'm stuck.

You were asking about a wireless adapter if your still in the market I suggest you go to this link http://tinyurl.com/6qppxx and check them. After you decide which one you want do a google search to find where to buy it or go to Ebay which is where I got the AWLL6080 for $35.00 and free shipping. I have both the AWLL6070 and the 6080 and both are solid performers. Download the drivers and let windows manage it and you'll be happy you got an Airlink wireless adapter. I can't tell you about the pci card but if it's as good as the usb models you can't go wrong. Oh and they do have Vista 64 bit drivers for all models. KOMMANDER

I've installed all the drivers and updates...as far as I can tell and even when it is hardwired I get a better connection to the internet (obviously) but the computer on the whole still seems quite slow.

Look in the Device Manager to see if all hardware is installed properly.

Quote:
  1. Click on Start and then Control Panel.
  2. Click on the System and Maintenance link.
Note: If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Simply double-click on the Administrative Tools icon and proceed to Step 4.
  3. In the System and Maintenance window, click on the Administrative Tools link near the bottom of the window.
  4. In the Administrative Tools window, double-click on the Computer Management icon.
  5. When the Computer Management utility opens, click on Device Manager on the left side of the window, located toward the bottom of the list under the System Tools heading.
Device Manager should now appear on the right side of the Computer Management window.
Note: If you don't see Device Manager listed, you may need to click on the |> next to System Tools.
  6. You can now update device drivers, view system resources your hardware is using, or do whatever else you need to do in Device Manager.

I don't know if you have fixed your flash problem but I rememeber rightly flash does not support 64bit?

Thre are 3 IE's on 64 Bit, standard version 64 bit version and no add on version.

Try using the normal version (does not sat 64 bit in the name) and install flash from there, 64bit is a pain still.

As for the build comgrats on a first build, mine was only a year ago and I know it is very exciting!

ENJOY!
