I know someone said that it's not fair that I have faster upload than downloads. I'll admit I was surprised at that fact as well.

The only one those speeds aren't fair to, is you. While your UL speed is about average your DL speed is DialUp speed. It wouldn't be so bad if they were both the same, but your UL speed is doing you no good.

Doesn't help matters much when I'm 10.5 miles from the nearest city or town, and only have dial-up as my option. The sooner I get my own place, the sooner I can get satellite internet from XploreNet. Then we'll see what my speeds are.

Satellite is wonderful compared to dial up. However latencies are poor. Speed is 2Mbps\500Kbps at best for a business package that is 99\mo.

I researched it because we are moving to NC where we might not have high speed wired internet. The homeowners association is petitioning to get them to wire us for cable but I see small chance of that happening. DSL is possible but our land may be too up the mountain..
