| Is more or less "ping" better? E8400 DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL 4GB G.Skill 800MHz Sapphire Radeon HD3870 512MB Silverstone DA650W WD 250GB + Seagate 320GB |

| Colonel Calamity | The lower the ping the better.. but if you look at my tests, lower ping does not always mean a faster connection overall ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| Colonel Calamity | I forgot that the computer you test on makes a large difference E6600 system: ![]() XP3000+ system: ![]() Now the thing that bugs me is the ping, much higher ping on my C2D box but also a much higher speed. both computers hooked up to same connection, same router, same cable modem, etc... the wifes P4 1.8GHz gets a touch lower than the XP3000+ does ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | the only difference with the cable and dsl is the internet hub of the place your cable company connected, if every home in your area logs on in their computer you'll get lower speed other than that at peak time they both have the same speed... but in our place not only cable also DSL gets cutoff at peak time esp at between 4-8pmEST when all people gets home and check their darn email...
