I feel sorry for you. Our company actually listens to its IT personnel (me) and is imaging new machines with Firefox preinstalled, with IE Tab integrated for use with our home page. (not firefox friendly because it uses Sharepoint)

The free FTP programs that I have been using are not near as 'user-friendly' and all the suggestions I found on microsoft.com did seem to work for me.

Does anyone know if there is an easy way to get that capability back or if there is a really good free FTP program I can use?
yeh same problem you can no longer use it as if the ftp server was a folder on ur pc stupid IE7

I use the same program. I have the full version, and love it to death. I also have fireftp installed on my firefox2.0 and found it to work fine for what i needed.

When I was a network admin in Ft Carson and in Korea, we tried to change the policy to allow users to use Netscape (back when people actually used Netscape) as an alternative. Eventually they would allow users to use Netscape on a case by case basis. You had to have justification on why you needed to use Netscape over IE.

You would be surprised how much paperwork it takes to install one program on one computer, if the program isn't listed on the Authorized Software list. Not to mention how many people it has to go through to get Authorized.

I can't imagine too many commercial institutions have the hoops you have to jump through that the Army does. If the Army were in it to make money, they would have gone out of business a long time ago simply due to how long changes take to policies already established.
