| Level 2 College Student | Bit Defender is much more comprehensive than McAFee or Norton. The only problem is it can take well over 3 times the normal amount of time because it does it via the internet and is uber comprehensive. ![]() ![]() |

I'll try it later (tomorrow maybe). You think deleting IE7 could solve anything? - Core 2 Quad Q6600 - DFI Infinity 975X - 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800 - 500GB WD 7200.10 Caviar GP + 250GB Seagate 7200.9RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM - ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB - Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W - Acer 19" P191W Monitor - Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution - Vista Ultimate x64 | |

| No, uninstalling IE7 will make it default back to IE6 in which the problem will still be there. Keep IE7 for now, because we don't want to add another variable to this. Are you talking about physically removing the application or just rolling it back to the previous version? Pentium D 915|EVGA 7050 mATX|OCZ XTC 2GB|XFX 7900GS XT|Hyper Type-R 580W|Qmicra 2 Case | |

| Well, I discovered it's a pain in the ass to remove IE completely, so I mean rollback to IE6. - Core 2 Quad Q6600 - DFI Infinity 975X - 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800 - 500GB WD 7200.10 Caviar GP + 250GB Seagate 7200.9RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM - ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB - Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W - Acer 19" P191W Monitor - Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution - Vista Ultimate x64 |

| So closing the tasks manually results in them coming right back? Keep hitting it with AVG anti-spyware, windows defender, etc, it has to be malwarez. You could also try going to start>run, type "msconfig", go to the startup tab, and deselceting the iexplorer tasks (if present), and then removing the entries from the registry or startup folder or whever msconfig say they are. | Colonel Calamity | I would try CCleaner and a-squared CCleaner will get the temp files and then also the registry issue scan a-squared will get the nasties like trojans, dialers, etc... ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |
