There is a Live CD so you can try it before you install it.

Hitman - did you ever draw up a diagram for your masterpiece? I love the pic but I don't recognize all the equipment.

I always ment to but never did. I used this website Structured Wiring - How To - wire your own home network, video and telephone to get most of my ideas. He does a real good job of explaining everything in detail.

For equipment here is a quick list of what you will need for Network, CATV, and Phone.

Cable/DSL Modem
Cable/DSL Router
Network Switch (for more then 4 wired PCs)
CATV Signal Amplifier
CATV Signal Splitter
Telephone Distribution Box (M Block)

PTRMAN, I would look at your existing PVR/cable box to see if it has any data out ports to see if there is any way to hook that up to the system. If not then you will for sure need to contact Comcast to see if they do have a box available that has that feature. If not there may be some 3rd party ones available through Newegg or other sources that will allow that but before buying a 3rd party box, contact Comcast to ensure that that box will work with their service.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Data Robotics has introduced a new "Share" product to compliment the Drobo. I believe this finally makes Drobo a viable storage solution for a home media network. Something to look into! (Was just announced at MacWorld).

Does anyone use an internal tv capture card? Any recommendations? I spoke to Hauppauge who said the 1800 and 1600 currently are having compatability problems with 4G memory, which is what I have.
