Dude its a 6500 person LAN, you use FTP to limit connections, otherwise you will get slammed with windows shares. The FTP site is linked through the intraweb.

I played around with some FTP servers last night, and it looks like the Filezilla server has the most features for a free version. Its improved some since I last used it.
