Not taking time to read whole thread, I'm procrastinating on my homework so I have to get something done. I like Remove It Permanently, it can zap even the most frustrating ads that AdBlock and AdBlockPlus cannot touch. It gets Google's IFrame based AdSense right away. It even can block specific parts of a site, down to the contents of a drop down box (one specific line). Greasemonkey is great too, for customizing virtually anything. FoxyTunes is nice as well. My roommate showed me Cooliris Preview, it shows a preview of a webpage when you hover the mouse over a link. You can even work within the preview (like if I were to preview a topic here I could hit reply inside the preview and then post)

For me it depends on the OS.. there is more needed for XP so I have more in that OS but on my linux setup I have 2: ForefactFox Enhanced and AdBlock
For my XP setup I have:
