Since the alpha wasn't released very long ago, that doesn't surprise me one bit. It takes more than a mere day for there to be any significant changes.

The rendering engine is really the only difference. The nightly version passes the Acid 2 test.

I just gave minefield a spin. Its a tad bit faster than the regular Alpha, and with the new rendering engine, everything looks right. However, it reset pipelining AGAIN! grr. Oddly enough, It didn't reset the pipelining options down at the office, just here, everytime I switch versions.

Just FYI, FF1.5 and 2.0 use Gecko 1.8 and 1.8.1 respectfully

Up until you fill a tab bar, which for some (like myself), happens very often and very frequently, especially when researching. In fact, it's very rare that I find myself with free space on the tab bar. Obviously though, individual browsing habits will vary. In any event, the previously mentioned extension keeps the new tab button always visible, as does Tab Mix Plus.

Yeah, usually, I surf double forums at once, so I have like 20 tabs open at once, viewing different threads. No open space for me either.

But why can't you lazy bums just press Ctrl+T?

Lol that's funny, because I'm used to use both CTRL+W and CTRL+T, I like to have a close tab button at the right of the tab bar, but I don't like to have a new tab button at the left.
But it's true you rapidly get used to tabs and they rapidly fill your bar.

Second quick question (lol): Is there any way to make the tab bar appear on 2 lines (or more) when needed? I like my visual estate but not at the expense of my quick surfing habits, and when you have too much tabs in FF2.0 there's a "scroll" button that appears at the right of the tab bar. In FF1.5 tabs got smaller and smaller until a certain point where you couldn't see your new/old tabs (which was a bit ridiculous IMO) but there was alot more tabs that would fit in the tab bar than in FF2.0. Using 2 lines of tab bar when needed seems like the perfect solution, and while I quickly looked thru the options and about:config there's nothing that looks like it will do that. Furthermore, about:config options aren't exactly explicit.
Thanks. :P

Sweet bro! That's exactly what I was looking for. I agree with you too. MS should have a lot of extensions for their browser. However, as most of us know, that ain't gonna happen till someone convinces Bill Gates to release his desperate hold on everything Microsoft.:joyman:

Your best bet is to install the Tab Mix Plus extension. Afterwards, click on Tools, select Tab Mix Plus Options, select the Display heading, click the Tab Bar tab, and change When tabs don't fit width to Multi-row. Instead of scrolling, the tabs will just start to fill up a second line.

Here's the resource you're looking for (LINK). And if you're an MPC subscriber (shame on anyone who isn't), keep an eye out in upcoming issues, as I cover some of these same topics in the coming months, including IE7...
