Cox does vary by state. I checked my local area and no pages say anything about caps. since I work from home with VoIP and have lots of downloads and uploads, if they try capping my system I will be switching to the unlimited business line for a few dollars more per month.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

I just moved to Arizona and have Cox but I don't see any place where they list a down/up cap here either. Maybe they just hate Vegas?

what I did was change one piece of the url... from lasvegas to gulfcoast and hit enter... it goes to a completely different page. I also checked through all sorts of other pages relating to the same info and no mention of caps.

This is the line in the user rules section of my ISP.

  1. Customer shall use reasonable efforts to minimize unnecessary network traffic and interference with the work of other users of interconnected networks. BRC and PTD reserve the right to terminate service, if in PTD & BRC's sole determination customer utilizes excessive bandwidth.

In other terms: If we don't like what you do, it's over and out. We'll keep all those prepaid months though.

I think you got this confused with someone else because I never said anything of the sort... I merely checked to see if I got the same page and I did not.

I might have to do a bit more research, but I was looking around Qwest's site, and I found some stuff in the legal section that talked about overly large emails and other files, and some talk about how much capacity their own network has to be able to handle in a given area, but I can't find anything about actual caps on usage.

If it's not fixed, then don't broke it!
