For me, 8 hours is good. Some people run it for 12 or 24 hours. It's pretty much what ever you feel comfortable with.

So for you it's 8 hours, so you just stop it when it gets to 8 hours? and continue to moniter your temps every now and then?

Yep, if it's still going at 8 hours, I just stop it and be happy with it.

Just leave it on overnight, wake up the next morning and check to see if it's still going. That's what I do, anyway. It doesn't have to be a set amount, it could be any extended period of time.

What happens if it fails the tests but you keep running the PC anyway? It'll overheat and fry the CPU/RAM?
Also if it passes the tests, can anything unexpected happen besides maybe overheating?

If it fails the test, then Orthos stops running the tests. This will leave your CPU 100% idle if you don't have anything else running.

BTW, don't use Priority 10 IMO. Priority 1 works just fine for me as it still finds errors yet it doesn't make the PC completely unusable afterwards.

Also, Intel chips are noted for their ability to automatically clock themselves down the second they overheat. So in the end, your CPU won't end up haywire.

Agreed, you shouldn't have to set the priority on it...

I run Orthos on priority 9. Doesn't it stress it more on a higher priority?
