In Vista, I've noticed that not having your computer on the High Performance power setting (the default is balanced) will actually declock your CPU for you to save power. I think, of course, this is only at idle, but you'd probably be checking your settings at idle, so this may work for you.

i am currenty running my RAM freq at 1700Mhz - even though my Mobo can only hit 1333MHZ....i had it running stable at 1063Mhz as well....is there an advantage running at higher freq? - i know i will generate more heat, but my cores are running at 38 + - 2

going back down to 1063Mhz
