Hi guys, had my 4 hrs sleep, put voltages back to default & downloaded intel 975 OC pdf, I downloaded CPU-Z yesterday but havn't played there yet...Temps I quoted previusly were @ about 3 a.m. here, so ambient has climbed to about 30C & CPU to 50C.. My bios revision is dated 2/07, so downloaded latest which is 3/07, but haven't done anything yet- still gettin cafiene levels up...in flicking through the intel OC pdf - there are things in the advanced section there that are not on my PC!!! But before I go much further today I'm ordering a Zalman CNPS9700LED- ($85+F AU buying at a cheap warehouse) hopefully be here in 2-3 days. Then I'll print pdf and go looking in bios again, then do the CPU-Z thing & get back to ya's... Thanks heaps guys- Yer Bloods Worth Bottlin'...

The Zalman 9700s are excelent heatsinks - I have one and it easily keeps my 945 cool at speeds over 4.5ghz.

Let us know when you get it.

So thats a 3.4- the next bigger brother to what I have?? I've tried putting one of them(actually two of em' at different times) on my motherboard, but it wouln't even boot to try a different setting... was dissappointed to put the 3.2 back in (twice lol...) It must be that I have a bios with parts of it locked- the parts that also allow OCing...I read the Intel pdf as suggested yesterday, but by page 4 its discussing stuff in default config o/ride that does not show on mine... I downloaded the integraters toolkit, and think it would be one way through for me, but just tryin to read about it gives me vertigo.. Would be sweet if someone else that knows what their doin' had already made a better bios file, or knew where to find one.. I think I might have to trying dropping Intel a line.. cheers bloke

Hi JCLW, Got my big zalman today... Ive been installing and tidying up wiring while I'm at it today...Took some pics I'll post when finished ( and when I learn how). Just cards, HDDs and covers to go after my caffeine break. Had some correspondance with Intel support Re bios, a brick wall of warranty clauses first up, but with some sweet talk, persiveerance and general B.S. they've said they'de be happy to help once I fill out a form full of details-- I'm 3/4s of the way through, so might be ready for some tweakin' soon.. YEEAA HHAAA...

Did they send you a new BIOS then?
