Interesting. It might be the memory.

You don't need such expensive fancy ram really...

I am using this ram:
Newegg.com - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

I got it for $150 because I couldn't afford the $300 ram at the time. They are now $105 and dip to $95 once in a while. They use ProMOS chips which aren't the world's most known for OCing, but hell! Its doing one hell of a wicked job :)

Unless you have money to spend on expensive well known brand names like corsair or crucial I suggest you pick up a kit :) They work very nice and have a sexy silver heat spreader!

I don't know if this would help you, but here are my settings, in order from top to bottom, from the frequency/voltage control page in the BIOS:

x10 2000
1.3v
Disabled
Normal
+0.100v
+0.200v
Enabled
Disabled
260MHz
Disabled

Might want to compare the enabled/disabled settings...

I believe the normal is for the HT voltage, and the +.1v is for the NB. I had to add +.2v to my ram because by default it was undervolting it to 1.7v which caused it to be unstable in memtest and SuperPi.

What settings are you using in the memory section? Did you manually lower the memory divider (too like DDR2-400)? Did you leave the timings alone? You might also want to try losing them a bit.. Although I doubt it will matter since the memory is running way under default speeds.

May the force be with you!

The Crucial Ballistix series of RAM are very good overclockers.

Will give it a try with your settings to see how it goes!! About the settings that i already have in the memory section, i have manually lower the memory divider to 400 but the timings are in auto.

Thanks for your time man!!

No problem man I want to show the world that the ECS KA3 MVP motherboard is a good overclocker, despite what most reviews say!

Do you have a link to the product page of your ram on newegg, ncix, or other sites? I don't really remember value ram being a good overclocking ram lol.

If your going to try out my settings, lower the HTT a bit. 260MHz might be a bit high of a jump based on your previous results.

Also, something I forgot to ask. What cooling are you using? Stock? What is your idle/load (stress prime or any prime) temperatures? You might just have a bad chip that heats up easily. I remember in the beginning, my chip DECREASED in temperature as I started to OC. But after I hit like 2.4GHz or around there it went back up :(

This ram is pretty much the cheapest.

Actually i´m using stock cooling for the proc and 2 80mm fans in the case, one front fan(air input) and one rear fan(air output). About my temps, in idle mode around 30° Celcius and under load 48-50°Celcius. This temps with system running at 2.35ghz.

I'd say grab some new RAM and see if it makes a difference.

Temps seem reasonable.

Holy CR@P!!! 50c load at 2.35GHz? WOW! I get that temperature at like 2.6/2.7GHz!

My only guess is the cpu is getting really hot and can't boot. Its recommended to keep the X2 under 60c but it can function up to like 70-75c depending on your chip.

Hmm, from what I can see, you might want reapply some thermal paste and remount your heatsink, Ghost Rider, becasue from what Robodude saod, that sound kinda hot for that speed.
