I got this link from jph1589. Seems that the mobo fails memtest without the latest updated bios.

Big props to jph1589. I unplugged the mouse and it sailed thru memtest. Needless to say it will be a PS2 mouse for awhile. So do I need to start from scratch or can I put my comp back to a earlier OC and start from there?

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

How odd. As an FYI, that board does have the latest BIOS (1205) installed, as I updated it a couple of months ago. Likewise, I've used and successfully passed Memtest86 with a USB mouse (both the Logitech G7 and Razer Copperhead), so I'm at a loss as to why that's affecting anything. You might try using a different USB port if you'd rather not switch mice.

Actually, there is a newer BIOS (1303)

It actually seems to be a documented issue

I just put a PS2 adapter on it until I get this thing where I want it.

Well I'll be a Joker's uncle! That newer BIOS came out just 3 short months after 1205, which would be why I missed it. I still never experienced any of these problems on that board, but apparently others have. Definitely worth a BIOS update if/when you plan on moving to a USB mouse.

if the only thing it affects is memtest, I wouldn't worry about it

I'm not doing a bios update just for memtest. I'll just use the mouse as a PS2 mouse when I do the test.

How do I change the FSB multiplier? It's at 6.5 and it should be 9.0
Must have reset when I cleared the CMOS before.
