How do I set ram timings? I'm going to stop at 290 I don't want to push it too far my first time, maybe later when I'm more comfortable with it. I really don't want to change the voltage either even though I could squeese more out of it.

your gonna have to ask paul on where to find the timings menu in the bios since my mobo was a DFI SLI-DR. i cant blame you for wanting to stop at 2.6ghz (i did myself ) thats a nice OC man.

If it's stable, don't touch the timings. From that last screenie, you're still running super tight.

Speaking of stability, that's what I would test next. Personally, I would run the following:

-Memtest86
-Super Pi (32M test)
-3DMark06

I know someone's going to recommend Prime95, but I'm not a fan of that program personally. It can be helpful in quickly detecting unstable overclocks, but when you run it for a long length of time before it errors out yet everything else runs stable, my interest drops.

Pretty much agreed, I usually go by, if it does what I want it to , without any problems, ex, freezing, data-loss,etc.. Then I call it stable.

Usually I start off by seeing if its everyday windows stable just from doing general things, like web browsing,etc.. Then I usually start up WCG(Folding prog), and run that for a day or two, and if that doesn't error out or anything, I move on to doing gaming tests. If that all checks out OK, then I declare it pretty much stable. Sometimes I'll just rune SP2004 or Prime95 for an hour or so, just to be sure if I think something might still be a little wonky.

Well it started showing errors in memtest about half way thru it so what do I do now? I'm heading to bed so I'll shut it off for the night.

IF you are getting errors in Memtest, chances are your memory is unstable (usually due to incorrect timings). Try loosening the timings a little or if you think they should be able to run at the timings you are at you could try putting the voltage up one increment and see how it does.

Check out This Post for some suggestions on timings and voltages

If nothing else, just take your time and try all the different combinations of settings and test each one. Finding your highest stable overclock takes a lot of time and patience. It can take me upwards of a month to finally settle on something that I am happy with. But granted, I'm not tweaking it day and night...

What voltage is your RAM running at? Dropping the CAS latency to 2.5 may help, but if not, you'll be looking at a voltage bump.

HELP I have the FSB at 220 mem clock at 133 the k8-nb at 3x and cas latency at 3 and I'm still getting errors in mem test at the same point, when memtest goes to 32 block test. I don't know where the voltage for the ram is at.
