Default Re: OCing the ECS 865PE-A

Despite Lead Head's insistence on ClockGen, we really need to be focusing on the BIOS directly, for reasons already discussed in the Shout Box.

So to clarify Panda, with the above BIOS settings, if you change the divider to DDR333 (instead of DDR400 as shown in the picture) and increase the frontside bus, that's when the problem occurs? I realize this happens when pumping up the fsb and keeping it at DDR400, but I want to verify that it also happens when set at DDR333...

Yea, no matter what setting, whether it be DDR400, DDR333 (its listed as 320 in the BIOS) and DDR266, it can never read the disk.

OK.

Disable Bios Cacheable and Video Bios Cacheable. Those don't do you a bit of good.

Enable Boot from Other Device. Some Bios' need this to boot from SATA.

You have SATA Port 0 set to secondary master. Should be Primary for the boot device I would think. The option right above that, on-chip Serial ATA is set to Combined Mode. What are the other options there?

Did you go under Hard Disk Boot Priority and set the SATA to the first Boot device?

BTW, set AGP Aperture size to 256. If it doesn't go that high, set it to the highest value.

I've never used this exact Bios, so just throwing things out there. Did this system boot fine prior to over clocking?

My thoughts right now are that the PCI locks are not working on this board.
