| Well, the stock speed of my memory is 675MHz, so yes, it is overclocked, but there seems to be a wall at 1095FSB. |

| We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | First, are you running the latest BIOS on that board? check the ASUS site to make sure you are up to date. When you start out overclocking, the best course of action is to isolate each individual component....start with the processor....drop the memory divider to 1:1 (the lowest memory setting) to eliminate it as a bottleneck, then start pushing your processor a little at a time to test for stability, once you reach the max stable, then up the voltage a bit....don't go past 1.4 or so starting out.....when you reach the max on the processor, slowly increase the memory divider and memory voltahe to find its max. | We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | Okay, you are running DDR2-533 memory......so I'd drop the memory divider as far as possible, like DDR2-400 (should be the lowest), then start pushing the processor....remember, memory, like every other system component, only has so much headroom. | Alright, thanks Capper. I'll try it. get back to you guys on the results. BTW, does any one have an ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus that can give me some tips on OCing on this motherboard? By memory multiplier, do you mean the memory divider? |

| We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | Its okay, I want to get you up, running, and happy..... To me, its a memory issue, and thats the angle I'm working from....if you are at 5-5-5-15, its not the latencies....its either the clock speed or the voltage, we'll get it figured out. | it looks to me that either the mem voltage isnt high enough, or on the latter, the frequency is up too high. if you really wanna go beyond 800MHz on ur ram (not recommended) up the voltage (make sure you have adequate airflow in the case to cool the hotter RAM, and i 100% dont recommend going higher than 2.2-2.3v on ram thats under 2.0v at stock). if you can, drop that mem divider as FAR as possible (as previously mentioned), DDR2-400 should be the lowest it can go. this gives you a lot more headroom to up the ram frequency, so it should do you well, and thats what i personally recommend as your initial move. good luck man. the timings seem loose enough, especially for XMS2. hope to see you above and beyond 2.46 soon! |

| I have the RAM in unlinked mode and keeping it at stock speeds (675MHz). For the CPU, I had to up the voltage to 1.4V just to get to 2.6GHz! I have a feeling it might be my motherboard that is holding my back, but all the reviews around the web for this motherboard says it has huge overclocking potential. Is there something I missing? |
