The memory passed memtest, the same one from Paul's link. Prime is not the only test it failed. It has failed Prime 95, SP2004, SuperPI and 3dmark 03 looped cpu test. The only one that has passed was Sisoft Sandra arithmetic test which is a very short test.

Personally, I'd get that processor checked....

Now now, reading this thread this all could be user error, no offence to original poster but it could. How about temps?

Capper slow down, let's try to get this fixed the right way ;)

That was my first thought when it wouldn't pass tests. I don't doubt that he knew it was bad when he sent it.

The motherboard, power supply, and memory came from my closet....the PSU is brand new, and the rest was only used to write the review.....We've covered everything, reset the BIOS, set everything to default....and its failing everything at basic settings.

Mounting? Like I said what where the temps? Maybe the psu is undervolting what are the voltages (vdroop) under load? Hehe not saying it would be any off those things, but it could. If you say you have held all these things for plausible and eliminated them one at a time, then swap cpu, run again if no errors it's the cpu ;) If no spare cpu, take cpu to local pc shop, tell the storey and ask em to test the chip in a spare mobo ( any pc shop which will offer repairs will usually do this when not to bussy is my experience ).

That PSU is plenty for that system, and as i said its a brand new one from ANTEC....Funny, you mentioned having the CPU tested....at the same time I was telling him that in a PM.
Please understand, as I said, most everything else is new, and was tested by me.....a

if you havent tested it yet, try dropping the CPU multiplier down to 5-7x
