I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Joker, the dividers on that motherboard are called 'Memclock Index.' Here's how it breaks down:

Memclock Index (Dividers)
100 = 1:2 (frequency x .50)
133 = 2:3 (frequency x .66)
150 = 3:4 (frequency x .75)
166 = 5:6 (frequency x .83)
183 = 11:12 (frequency x .91)
200 = 1:1 (Stock frequency)

This is where the dividers are found. Select 'Memclock Mode' and change it from 'Auto' to 'Limit.' Once you do this, you gain access to the 'Memclock Value,' which is where you can manually select your dividers.

sounds like your ram is maxing out already. DDR 460 is pretty good however you can add a bit of voltage or loosen the timings. but you now know the limits of the stock settings and voltages on your ram

Put the memory on a 150 or 166 divider and let that thing fly

Looking great Joker! And if you decrease that HT link, you'll likely have more OCing headroom to play with. At 1200MHz (2400MHz effective), you're at the cutoff point.

This is the part that makes overclocking an A64 platform confusing for first timers. The HT link is a separate matter from the CPU clockspeed, and ideally, you want to keep it as close to 1000MHz (2000MHz effective) as possible. Go too far over, and you'll run out of overclocking headroom, as it has trouble booting when pushed too far out of spec.

HT Link Calculation
HT multiplier (NOT the CPU multiplier) x fsb (HTT) = HT Link Speed
5 x 200 = 1000 (2000MHz, as it's bi-directional)....this is default
5 x 240 = 1200 (2400MHz)....this is where you're at

The default fsb for A64 processors is 200, and the default HT mulitplier is x5. As you increase the fsb to overclock your processor (and you've increased yours from 200 to 240), you want to decrease the HT multiplier. Drop it down to x4 or x3 and it looks like this:

4 x 240 = 960 (1920MHz effective)
3 x 240 = 720 (1440MHz effective)

If it were me, I would drop it down to x3 until I was finished overclocking. Once I've gone as high as I want to go, I'd change it to x4 and see if it remains stable. But by dropping it to x3 initially, you remove the HT Link as a potential prohibiting factor.

So where do you find the HT Link multiplier? I'm glad I asked!

- go into the ADVANCED heading
- select the CHIPSET menu
- the HT Link multiplier is called 'K8 to NB Frequency'

Ok I'll do that. I just finished OCCT with things set at 250-166 so I guess i was lucky that it worked.

250 is pushing it a bit at x5......try to keep it as close to 1000 as you can....you're doing outstanding

bring it down to x3. x4 will put it at exactly 1000 but you'll probably be going even higher.
