speedfan does the job in windows, or why not just look in the bios at the idle temps?

Most nVidia 650i chipsets don't display the NB temps........it's one of those stupid things about them.

Who knows, that's a question for the board makers I would think.

Well, the fact it tested stable is a good start
It is possible that your chipset is overheating, you could always just gently touch it with your finger and feel how hot it is. If it feels like it is going to melt your finger after a couple seconds, it is probably too hot. But if it is just warm, then you have nothing to worry about. You could also look into getting an external temperature monitor of some kind like the MicroTemp or one of these...
As KillingField mentioned, try setting your RAM 1:1 with your processor and just overclock your processor and see what it can do. Then lower your CPU multi to like 6x or something and put your RAM divider back to 667MHz and then increase your FSB to find the overclock potential of your RAM.

Alright, so basically just find the limit of the CPU and RAM independently. Are you sure that I don't have a "dud" CPU or mobo?

okron1k, you better run a Stability Test and bunch of Load test coz you'll never know when its stable enough for 24/7 use.

That is how you find out if you have a "dud" component, by eliminating the overclocking bottlenecks so the top speed is only dependent on one part.

OK, so I updated the BIOS from version 602 to 801 (released 7/11/2007). Hopefully it was the BIOS holding me back from a full OC, so I'll try some things with this new BIOS and get back.

I have a question about Orthos. Does it tell you when there is an error? Or does is just freeze up?
