i just got most of my parts in (everything except case) so i ripped everything out of my old case and put all my parts in it. got my e4300 to overclock to 3ghz stock voltage and stock heat sink

Nate, keep the same settings as what passed Memtest and try running the small FFT test in StressPrime for 6 hours and see how that goes.

When I ran Memtest, I had it at stock settings. I'll run StressPrime and get back to you guys.

asus striker extreme

set the fsb to 1333mhz and ram to 850. although after my settings the ram wasn't quite at 850. voltages all stock and stock cpu cooler

I have read that ASUS applies thermal paste (pad) really bad on their motherboards. Maybe my chipset is overheating and I don't know it? if i replace the stock paste with AS5, do you think that will help?

OK, so I took apart my comp, replaced chipset thermal paste with AS5. No difference. I need a app that will tell me chipset temps.

It takes sometime for AS5 to cure and over time you will see a improvement in your temps..........

If I were you, I'd leave my ram completely alone until you reached the CPU clock that you're looking for and then go back and mess with the memory timings, at least that's the way I OC and I came up with a pretty fair OC on my system.
