| I'm Diggin it! | If you have your CPU Voltage at 3.5 volts, it's going to die in the next 5 seconds. Hopefully, you meant 1.35v. The phenomena I mentioned called voltage droop is why you put 1.4v in the Bios and CPU-z only reads 1.36 or so. It's a fairly common experience on motherboards. | no no lol 3.5 GHZ running at a constant rate of 53 C-54 C. I had to open my front case door to let the air out. I am running it at 1.45v even though it says its at 1.36v |

| Colonel Calamity | aha GHz, not V looks like a good setup there at good temperatures I would keep the speed about where it is now because if the thermal paste ever gave out or the heatsink got separated from the cpu somehow then that 53C would skyrocket and possibly mess with the cpu (although I would hope the throttling would kick it down before it caused harm) ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | Well i have been running orthos for about an hour 1/2 now and it seems more than mediocre. It's running at a constant rate of 52 C!! My settings rock n all i did was study the nvidia 680i oc guide and understood the rates at which i was supposed to go. So i then knew how much power a certain voltage should be for either the ram cpu or fsb. everything works out great and u guys are making me sure of myself that im doing it right. It's my first time overclocking any PC. Ive always heard about it but now ive finally done it successfully without ANY problems!! thanks guys |

| We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | yeah, you were reading it wrong, the Core speed is 3.5GHz, the voltage is probably between 1.3-1.4V...... Ok, you are doing really well, and should be very happy with that OC INTEL QX9650 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 8GB PC2-8500 // BFG GTX260 MaxCore // DD Torture Rack // Seagate 750GB HDD // OCZ Vendetta // PC Power & Cooling 620W PSU |
