Man, the only one that I had with the unlocked multiplier hit 2.4xxghz!!! I got that puppy up there enough, that at boot up it just read Athlon at 2.5 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Wouldn't even recognize it as a series of XP chips ![]() The very best percentage of overclocking that I have now is an old 1800 chip. Don't even know what this chip is for sure, but at the moment, I have it running in one that the wife has, and it is at almost 2.3gz!!! Damn, I should do a CPU-Z on that thing and post it ![]() The thing just amazed me that it would hit that high!!! Can't remember the multiplier x at the moment, but it is suppose to be running at 133fsb, and I have it set at 200 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | |

Basically, unless you have a high-end nForce2 board, don't bother. | Colonel Calamity | I have a 3000+ Barton on A7N8X and 2600+ on M7VIG400... I did OC the 2600+ a touch a while back but I don't have a great cooler on it so it was getting too hot.. so I have just left it stock speed for the past few years. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | Have you locked the AGP/PCI frequencies? I think we can all agree it's the motherboard, not the CPU. Not even a 201 FSB works? That's an 11 MHz difference for the CPU - it is unlikely it's THAT stubborn. You could always remove it from the equation by upping the voltage. The max voltage for 24/7 use is around 1.75V or so, IIRC. You might want to check that, though. Are you just oc'ing for shits and giggle? I ask because overclocking a Barton system gives back practically unnoticeable performance benefits. | Modder-ator | What don't you understand? Running games at that resolution is going to depend a lot more on your video card than your processor. |
