I bumped the FSB back up to the 1546 number, and increased the Voltage on the CPU FRONT SIDE BUS from 1.4v to 1.5 volts..... was this a no no??

increased the FSB volts to 1.5... just had a friend send me this... http://pic18.picturetrail.com/VOL888/4176473/15414309/271041222.jpg (Change this one to 8x) http://pic18.picturetrail.com/VOL888/4176473/15414309/271041215.jpg (Change this one to CPU Core 1.50v, FSB to 1.3v, Memory to 2.1v, SPP to 1.3v, MCP to 1.5v, SPP<>MCP to 1.3v) http://pic18.picturetrail.com/VOL888/4176473/15414309/271041207.jpg (This one is fine) http://pic18.picturetrail.com/VOL888/4176473/15414309/271041205.jpg (Change this one to 1800 and leave 800 as is) would you guys agree with this?? 1800 seems kinda high to me...

Well, with an 8x multiplier, it's not that high. 1.5v sounds kinda high to me, what are you're temps at 1.5v? E8400 DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL 4GB G.Skill 800MHz Sapphire Radeon HD3870 512MB Silverstone DA650W WD 250GB + Seagate 320GB

60C is really high for the C2D chips. Try to keep it under 50C. Take those voltages down a bit. E8400 DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL 4GB G.Skill 800MHz Sapphire Radeon HD3870 512MB Silverstone DA650W WD 250GB + Seagate 320GB

| We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | What are you using to monitor temps? If its CoreTemp or TAT, then 60C is ok, but I' wouldn't push the CPU too much further on air cooling. As to 1800, I'm not sure you'll do 1800x8 on an E6600, you might, but I think you're really pushing it on air INTEL QX9650 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 8GB PC2-8500 // BFG GTX260 MaxCore // DD Torture Rack // Seagate 750GB HDD // OCZ Vendetta // PC Power & Cooling 620W PSU Last edited by Capper; August 11th, 2007 at 14:01. |

Again, download CoreTemp, IMO it's a better temp monitoring software. E8400 DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL 4GB G.Skill 800MHz Sapphire Radeon HD3870 512MB Silverstone DA650W WD 250GB + Seagate 320GB

sorry for the delay in posts... lots going on the time to spend OC'ing just isn't there..... I downloaded cPUZ, Core Temp and have bumped up my cpu volts a tad and currently running Orthos at 1506 FSB memory unlinked... temps are 43/40 15 minutes into the stress test... think at the lower FSB the temps shouldn't be a problem. But seems I cannot go over 1506 FSB. thanks again for the replies guys, and again sorry for not repling for 4 days.. Last edited by Capper; August 15th, 2007 at 16:53.

Try lowering the multi, upping the FSB, then bringing the multi back up again. That's how i got my E4300 up to 3GHz (I wouldn't have been able to otherwise) E8400 DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL 4GB G.Skill 800MHz Sapphire Radeon HD3870 512MB Silverstone DA650W WD 250GB + Seagate 320GB
