So, still no luck here. Maybe if one of you fine people could post exactly step by step what you do when you overclock, we could see if I am missing something. Because, clearly, I think, the posted guides aren't doin' it for me or I am just missing something stupid. Thanks again everyone :P

Have you unlinked your ram FSB from the CPU FSB? If they are linked, that could be your problem. Also, what FSB are you running your ram at? You may want to change the command rate to T2 on your ram if your overclocking your ram, otherwise, you will get that halt state and safe mode.

When ever you get the halt and safe boot into Bios, it means the settings you tried aren't compatible or could damage your installed hardware.

Make sure you've unlinked your ram so that you're overclocking just your CPU. In the pic below, never mind that my ram is at 875Mhz. Put your ram to 2.2v and the CPU voltage to 1.250. Then, use the 9 multiplier and th stock FSB of 1066 and see if it boots.

Good deal. Now, go here and download Intel's TAT.

Once you've got that installed, use it for a few days to keep track of your temps. DO NOT install any of the nVidia monitoring crap software. Just use TAT to keep track of your temps and you're golden.

Also, run Prime 95 over night to check your overclock. Or CPU Burnin. Also, run memtest86+ to check that your ram overclock is good. Just Google those terms and you'll get the apps.
