| Stock clocked OEM's run hotter that that under load (due to crap cooling) and last for years and years. With a chip with a Tjunction of 100c a petty little 60c in stress testing isn't going to hurt a thing. You'll never or at least hardly ever attain those conditions in real world usage ......;) Now ifthe chip had a Tjunction of 85c (Conroe B3 cores) anf were running upwards of 70c, I might get a little worried, but not with these Allendales, there's more than enough thermal overhead left to play around with. MSI P35 Platinum Combo, Intel E6750, Kingston DDR3-1375 2 x 1 gig, BFG 8800GT, Tagan ITZ 700w, Soyo 24" LCD. Cooling by Custom Water.............. | Your probably right ... and that high T-Junction helps ... My first core 2 likely was a B3 and it got a bit tired. It still overclocks ... but for an E6600 ... it doesn't get much past 2.6GHZ stable now ... I never pushed it much ... certainly never past 68 C ... barely could hold over 3GHZ stable with a Big Typhoon ... could be I got a so.so chip too ... I did get it when they first came out. | My E6750 is one of those FSB limited jobs, it clocks like crazy to a point, and then just stops, doesn't matter what I try and do. So I just keep the volts low at a nise mild OC for now till I have the cash saved for my next CPU. Besides, a 3.6 GHz C2D is more than powerful enough for what I'll ever need, at least for the time being.
