| IMO it would around 60C. That's just my opinion though, some people are comfortable with it higher. Definitely nothing over 70C though. E8400 DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL 4GB G.Skill 800MHz Sapphire Radeon HD3870 512MB Silverstone DA650W WD 250GB + Seagate 320GB |

| oh noes | Hmm, I don't like it when my e6300 hits 43c... I must be spoiled I guess. Just curious though, what sort of cooler are you using? ![]() e8500@4ghz|Asus P5k-e WiFi| 4gb OCZ ReaperX|2x 3870's|1.3tb storage space|MSI tv tuner. |

| We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | man, personally, I'd be really really happy with that O/C on the E4300.....thats a really good job considering the clocks and temps you are seeing. Anything under 60C is fine. As to the 750GB HDD, are you sure you removed the jumper? They did a poor job explaining that jumper prevents the HDD from running 3.0GB/s. | I'd be happy to. It was quite hard for me to get close to that with my E4300 - you got a good chip! |

| E4300 can clock like a mad man with the right cooling (they run hot), they also have a high Tjunction than some. Getting a 100% OC out of them really isn't all that hard, I've seen several on different forums that do 3.6 or better under water cooling. Here's a screenie of my best friends (Bio-Hazard) E4300 that he had a while back. Now another friend has the chip and MoBo, I think Bio is now (or will shortly) be running a E8400. ![]() MSI P35 Platinum Combo, Intel E6750, Kingston DDR3-1375 2 x 1 gig, BFG 8800GT, Tagan ITZ 700w, Soyo 24" LCD. | You can run your Chip higher than 60 C ... but in my opinion it is a wise ceiling ... where degradation of the CPU risk starts at over 66 C [Some chips are less prone to it ... some are more prone to it.] Personally I like 55 C or under ... simply because of diminishing returns past it that I have experienced, such as BSOD or instability issues ... [Plus one C2D CPU degradation problem.] Most of my OC gains are with an under 58 C "full load" processor with high end Air Cooling. There is always that last 200MHZ that takes one into the "fry zone" at the cost of many parts and voltages running higher and tuning down the ram speeds or latencies a tad. [So it often isn't much of an overall speed gain of the operation of the PC] By the way ... nice overclock job so far!
