Default Re: Evga 650i ultra+Intel E6750- OC VOLTAGE

maybe you need to familiarize yourself with the forum rules..........start by creating a sig, and understanding that some people dont have the time to scroll through an entire thread......I also see people trying to help you, but you not taking the time to learn what the different voltages are, or what they do...which tells me you need to slow down and take your time.

FSB and Memory

FSB(QDR) - 1500

MEM(DDR) - Adjust memory ratio to keep this under 800MHz unless you also want to OC your memory

Voltages

CPU Core - 1.30V - if unstable, increase to the next value and keep an eye on your CPU temps

Memory - 1.9V or 2.1V - depending on your specific kit, set your memory to its rated voltage. it should show it on the label

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Not only does it show that in your BIOS, but you posted a pic of where you can find it:

Click the image to open in full size.

On that screen, keep pushing the 'down' arrow and it will bring up a new set of numbers.

Umm, im trying to understand, but i don't see 1.30 in cpu core. I only see 1.56250 does that mean 1.5v?

No, 1.56250 means 1.56250. Hit the 'down' arrow on your keyboard until the white dot is next to 1.56250 (in that pic, it's on Auto), and then hit the 'down' arrow again. That will bring up a new set of voltage selections, presumably:

1.55625
1.55000
1.54375
1.53750
1.53125
1.52500
1.51875
1.51250

Then keep scrolling down. That menu holds 8 selections at a time, and it will refresh to lower values each time you hit the 'down' arrow when the last selection is highlighted.

I should add from above here while you are in the bios and have selected the voltage adjustment page and then selected the Core Voltage page use/ hit the Down Arrow key on your key board to scroll down to additional voltage choices

Honestly I don't believe you need to change voltages at all if you leave it on auto you should be fine up to the 3.2 possible way more. As I said those cpu's are good cool overclockers and evga is known for better than average bios. You could be hitting a memory hole and without going into a deep dark explanation give the sets I prescribed a try.

Load Defaults
Change FSB to 1600
F10 (save & exit)
Let her boot up

Report back

I do, then it just crashes in css. Any thing over 2.9 crashes. Should i just change memeory settings, like linked or unlinked or sync mod?

Either go with the memory unlocked and keep it as close to 800MHz as possible, or use a higher divider that keeps the memory as close to 800MHz as possible......then raise the VDIMM (memory voltage) to 1.9V

Look bud, I see a thread full of answers, and people trying to help you.....but i see a guy not even trying to help himself......which is the root of the problem here.

First, at least familiarize yourself with the terms in the BIOS, if you took the time to do that, you'd see that a lot of answers have been given to you in this thread by the same people you are getting snippy with.

Also, trying to overclock without even a basic understanding of some very simple settings is not only going to cause you stability problems, but will also result in you mucking up your system .
