Default Re: Double check my settings please

Well....I found my wall and had to reset the stupid cmos. After reading about cniles 3.4, I decided to up my fsb from 356 to 366 and it wouldn't post. reset the Cmos and here's the weird part....I put it back to 356 and adjusted everything else like I had them in the bios...except for the "virtualization tech" in the cpu config.settings. Before....it was locked on "enabled" and I couldn't change it...when I reset the Cmos it wasn't locked and I disabled it (like I wanted to before).
well The tests came back a little slower...for instance the 3dMark05 came down from 11183/11813(cpu) to 11174/11476(cpu)....the super pi was the same and the pcMark05 went up from 8216 to 8274... BUT the video encoding part dropped from 598.62kbs to 583.94kbs.
I don't know if difference in scores was due to the disabling of "virtualization tech" or not...but the temps also dropped on Orthos/stressprime2004 beta.....from 45-47 under load to 43-45 underload. So it wasn't a total loss I guess. I ran it overnight for about 9 hours and it checked out ok. I'll run a full 24 hours after the memory is done.
For right now...it's 356FSB for 3.207 within the suggested voltage @ 1.325.

I'm testing my memory now at 299FSB for 897Mhz and timings set at 4-4-4-12 with 2.2v. I did the super pi (1m) and now running memtest86+ for 24 hours. I got my references from the review article on here.

Update....Since I'm wanting the extra speed just for dvd copying and video editing...I decided to play around with the settings before I ran 2 days worth of tests for the memory and cpu stability.

The 897 4-4-4-12 at 2.2v didn't work for me....but 890 at 4-4-4-15 did...but I was a little cautious about the 2.2v..even though OCZ will give you that included in the lifetime warranty.

I copied a dvd to my harddrive and then burned it...just to see what the time difference would be, so I could make a better decision.
@3.20 and memory at 890 (4-4-4-15, 2.2v) it copied in 9m 5s.
@3.20 and memory at 712 (4-4-4-12, 2.1v) it copied in 9m35s
@ stock speeds of 2.40 and memory at 800 (4-4-4-12, 2.1v) it copied in 9m39s. add another 7m2s for burning time to each.
So I figured...why push everything too hard for a matter of seconds? I haven't done any video editing yet...but I would think it will be the same thing, a matter of seconds.

So I settled on 3.15 and memory at 875 (4-4-4-15, 2.1v) with everything withing the suggested voltage range just to be safe and also to help keep my temps happy. Now that I've finally made up my mind....I'm running memtest86+ for 24 hours and then orthos (with built in stressprime)2004 for 24 hours.

By the way...my old sony vaio (intel p4...3.4hz) took about 35 minutes total to copy a dvd to my harddrive and then burn it. I use 1click pro.

I owe a big thank-you to GVBlake22 for walking me through it step by step. Thanks again dude.

I'll report back here in a couple of days and hopefully announce 100% stability.

Interesting results, thanks for sharing! It's always interesting to see actual real-world performance results and how much they prove (nearly everytime) that the differences in these processors isn't really as big as the benchmarks make it seem. But it is still fun to overclock the things to kingdom-come!
