This is why I like eVGA Video Cards. If you overclock their already overclocked cards, swap out the thermal interface material for Arctic Silver 5 or even put an aftermarket cooler on it, or do all 3, and it burns up, they replace it. As long as what you've done hasn't physically damaged the card, chipped one of the chips, and you make sure you have the original packaging and cooler.

They do have a new blurb on their website that says you have to register it within the first 30 days to get the lifetime warranty, otherwise it's just a year.

My X1900XT is overclocked to XTX specs, but that's about it. I like to OC, but if there's little to no gain I just don't do it.

Mine is eVGA, and I've had it since I've been running this system and never had any problems with it. It's a great card! If I had to return it for some reason, I think I have the original packing, and the stock cooler would get returned to them in pieces with most of the screws and stuff - I'm pretty sure I kept all that stuff.

If I bought one that was already overclocked, I'd get the warranty they offer. A lifetime warranty is better than a year, but you know you'll only have need of it for a few years until you get another card.

I only OC the CPU, have never seen much of a performance boost from OCing anything else. It's more important to me that my hardware works flawlessly then squeezing every last bit of performance out of it.

I don't remember what game it was, but I noticed a slight performance increase when I tried overclocking my 6800GT once. I didn't leave it that way for long, just because I was worried about what I was doing to the card. I put it back to stock, but I don't think it was ever the same after that. Then later, when trying tests on different oc settings, it started failing the tests. Those of you who have said that oc'ing the video yeilds little or no real increase are right, and plus I've found it too risky from experience.

That's only on products purchased after November 1, 2006 IIRC.

Here's the link.

All EVGA Products purchased ON or AFTER November 1, 2006 MUST be registered within 30 days from ORIGINAL DATE OF PURCHASE to receive full lifetime warranty. (All products not registered within 30 days will ONLY receive a 1 year limited warranty.)
